Reinforce Staff’s Safety Awareness, Create Safe Operation Environment
------The KLF 7th Safety Competition
The 7th company-wide Safety Competition was held by Keppel Logistics (Foshan) Limited(KLF) at Sanshui Port on 14 May 2016, with participation of three teams from Lanshi Port, Third Party Logistics & supporting departments and Sanshui Port.
The safety competition was composed of three parts, including practice skill campaign, safety knowledge contest and safety innovation project.
Practice skill campaign consisted of forklift operation and use of fire hose. This campaign mainly focused on the contestants’ skillfulness, normativity and stability in the forklift operation and firefighting. All the contestants delivered a satisfactory safety presentation through a great deal of beforehand practice and stable onsite performance.
Safety knowledge contest was of higher requirement than ever before in the form of question and answer------ blank filling. Answers which are incomplete or slightly discrepant would be deemed erroneous. Therefore, contestants should have a thorough cognition about safety knowledge in order to obtain a high score. In spite of stringent requirement, each team was so well prepared that the competition was very exciting and intense.
Safety innovation project was to cultivate innovative thoughts and improve analytical ability on safe operation for the purpose of mitigating safety risk. Hydraulic oil cooler on Shengwei Reach Stacker proposed by Lanshi Port, driving recorder on forklift raised by Third Party Logistics & supporting departments, reversing warning light on forklift put forward by Sanshui Port were all focused on technological innovation by installing accessory device whilst no change to the function and operation mode of the equipment.
Safety competition is one of the annual vital safety activities in KLF. It can fortify staff’s safety awareness which is essential to our safety work. We will keep pursuing for improvement on safety work so as to better create a safe operation environment and minimize safety risk.
